Grid Project

Image
For my grid project, I had my mom take a picture of my pride flag from home and send it to me; to recreate it in a grid format, I got Skittles and M&M's and formed them in the sequence of colors of the pride flag, from red to purple. I was going to use thumb tacks originally, but I figured since the Skittles slogan is "taste the rainbow" I had to utilize using them.

Angel de Quinta's Stage Door Blog

Looking through Angel de Quinta's blog, there is an array of different musicals and Broadway performers that are highlighted. Growing up on Long Island, going to see a Broadway show became somewhat of a normal thing to me. My grandmother loved to take me to shows starting when I was younger, and even today I still go to shows whenever I can. One of my favorites, like a lot of people, is Wicked . Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel are two of the most iconic performers of our generation; they play the two leads in Wicked and are shown on Quinta's blog singing for different roles. Broadway musicals are one of the most important forms of art in the pre and post modern world; the various forms a musical can take on, the stories it can tell, and the emotions it can display are essential to the word of art. The combination of singing, dancing, acting, etc is the staple to what talent truly is and is unlike any other.

21st Century Technology

The 21st century has already seen the development of several innovated technologies that have changed the world as we know it. From the development of the cell phone, to social media, to the internet, we are surrounded by inventions that make our daily lives run more efficiently. Self-driving cars are on the newer side on these technologies. With the development of self-driving cars, we step into an entirely new realm of possibility for transportation on a day to day basis.          The idea of self-driving cars, however futuristic it may sound, is not a new concept. The concept of the self-driving car first came about in 1925 when Francis Houdina drove a radio-controlled car through the streets of Manhattan without anyone at the steering wheel. The car was known to be able to start its engine, shift gears, and sound its horn on its own (10 Major Milestones in the History of Self-Driving Cars). For the entirety of the 20th century, the concept of a fully operational self-drivi

https://youtu.be/GwCatcISCs0 For this project, I did the book The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I started by going from the first page to around the 200 page mark, highlighting on some of the key points of the novel (bow and arrow, how Katniss is the "girl on fire"). I then went to the last page of the novel and started going backwards, drawing on the opposite page, also highlighting key points along the way (Katniss received packages throughout the games from Haymitch). I used a sharpie to draw the images so that it would be easier to see what is being shown.
